About the sub-department "Heat-and-power engineering plants of thermoelectric and nuclear power stations" – HPEP T and NPS


 
The sub-department "Heat-and-power engineering plants of thermoelectric and nuclear power stations" was founded in 1931 at the Heat and Power engineering department in KPI.
 
The educational staff of the sub-department of HPEP T and NPS consists of highly qualified scientific and technical specialists, among them 4 professors, doctors of science; 6 associate professors, candidates of science; 7 senior lecturers.
 
The sub-department has 7 laboratories specialized for doing lab assignments. Besides, the sub-department widely uses in educational process the equipment of the Heat-electric generation Heat Power plant-5, the laboratory of equipment diagnostics and the laboratory of metals at “Kyivenergo”.
 
The section of “Interbranch institute of post-qualification education of NTUU KPI” on the speciality of “Thermal power plants” was established at the department in 1998 for the people who work in power engineering and ones who graduated from the technical colleges with 4-year term studying (on-the-job training).
 
In the 1960s the sub-department of HPEP T and NPS trained more than 150 specialists for the foreign countries: Germany, Vietnam, Morocco, Libya, Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Cuba, Mongolia, Iraq, Algeria, Sudan, etc.
 
The sub-department of HPEP T and NPS has the highest – the forth level of accreditation of high educational establishments of Ukraine.
 
The magistracy, postgraduate course and doctoral course work at the department.
 
The educational training program includes several directions of training:
-             Bachelor degree: 6.050601 “Power engineering” on the speciality “Thermal Power Plants”
-             Master degree: 8.090521 on the speciality “Thermal Power Plants”
